Monthly factory gate prices increased by 0.3pc in June 2012 compared to a decrease of 0.8pc recorded for June of last year.
As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 3.2pc in June 2012, compared with an increase of 2.0pc in the year to May 2012.
In the month, the price index for export sales increased by 0.6pc, while the index for home sales decreased by 0.9pc.
In the year there was an increase of 3.4pc in the price index for export sales (this can be influenced by currency fluctuations) and an increase of 2.0pc in respect of the price index for home sales.
In the month the most significant changes were increases in Computer, electronic and optical products (+1.3pc), Basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (+0.9pc) and Other food products including bread and confectionary (+0.7pc).
There were decreases in Fish and fish products (-3.5pc), Dairy products (-2.8pc) and Electrical equipment (-1.2pc).
Contributing to the annual change were increases in Computer, electronic and optical products (+9.2pc), Other food products including bread and confectionary (+7.7pc) and Meat and meat products (+4.8pc).
There were decreases in Dairy products (-8.5pc), Basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (-1.4pc) and Other Manufacturing including Medical and Dental Instruments and Supplies (-0.8pc).
