SIPTU members employed in the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) have refused to accept a management attempt to impose a 10pc pay cut, a freeze on pension scheme contributions and seven compulsory redundancies on its staff.
"The pay cut and other proposals put to staff by management earlier this week have been roundly rejected by our members. The workers at the FAI have already suffered two pay cuts over the past 18 months and we have told management they cannot be expected to take any more," SIPTU Organiser, Denis Hynes said.
"We have referred the issues to the Labour Relations Commission and expect to have a hearing over the coming week to try and resolve what is otherwise going to escalate into serious industrial action by staff at the FAI."
