Avoca Cap appoint co-Chief Executive

Tuesday, May 29 12:10:29

Avoca Capital Holdings, a leading European credit investment manager with E6bn assets under management, today announced the appointment of James Hatchley as co-Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Hatchley will join the board of Avoca and work alongside Avoca's co-founders, Chief Executive, Alan Burke and Chairman, Donal Daly and the other senior members of the Avoca management team to serve clients and exploit the growth opportunities that are available to the firm within European credit markets.

James Hatchley joins from Freeman and Co., a financial services focused M and A advisory and strategic consulting firm where he was Managing Director and COO of Freeman and Co. Europe.

Mr. Hatchley is a qualified chartered accountant and began his banking career at Schroders in 1991. He joined Greenhill and Co. in 2000 and has focused exclusively on providing independent strategic advice to a wide range of global and boutique financial services businesses since 1994. Over this period, he has worked with a wide range of asset management businesses in the US, UK and Europe and covered a number of large global institutional investors. Mr. Hatchley established Freeman and Co.'s European business in 2006.

Founder and co-Chief Executive Officer of Avoca, Alan Burke, said: "The management and shareholders of Avoca recognise the diverse range of experience and global perspective that James will bring to the management and future development of the Avoca business. Since we established the firm in 2002, we have grown Avoca both organically and through acquisition. Throughout that period we have focused on ensuring that our business infrastructure and management resources have matched the development of the firm. James' appointment is consistent with that philosophy and also reflects our belief in the future growth opportunities available to Avoca."
