Shanghai shares eked out their first gain in three days today, as strength in banks offset weakness in the pharmaceutical sector, but did little to prevent the benchmark index from slumping to a sixth-straight weekly loss.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.1 percent on the day, but down 1.8 percent this week at 2,128.8. The CSI300 Index inched up 0.1 percent on the day, but lost 2.1 percent this week ( C ) Reuters
