An Irish mobile technology company is hoping to help save manufacturing and life sciences industries a packet as well as create jobs with its range of "smart Cows", or computers on wheels. VisionID, based in Tipperary, is one of the country's main suppliers of mobile computing, barcode and data capture solutions.
The tech firm has moved on to greener pastures with a new range of "smart Cow" mobile computers which are turning heads in industry.
The wireless, mobile units are being snapped up by manufacturing and life sciences (pharmaceutical and medical devices) companies who need hi-tech, real time, durable, and long-life computer solutions with scanning apps capable of working tight spaces and sterile environments.
In many instances, the software is also compatible with standard PC technology, saving clients a bundle. VisionID says the reaction to the Cows has been so positive that it hopes to increase its workforce in Clonmel by as many as four people, bringing it to 25 before the end of this year.
