Industrial production rises in July

Production for Manufacturing Industries for July 2012 was 1.2pc higher than in June 2012, latest figures from the CSO reveal.

On an annual basis production for July 2012 increased by 6.4pc when compared with July 2011.

The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for Manufacturing Industries for the three month period May 2012 to July 2012 was 4.4pc higher than in the preceding three month period.

The "Modern" Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed a monthly decrease in production for July 2012 of -0.4pc and there was an increase of 1.3pc in the "Traditional" Sector.

The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for Manufacturing Industries increased by 3.7pc in July 2012 when compared with June 2012. On an annual basis turnover increased by 6.3pc when compared with July 2011.
