Career Zoo says has 4,000 jobs to offer

Monday, September 03 14:11:54

Career Zoo, Ireland's biggest careers event aimed at hiring qualified professionals and graduates, has up to 4,000 jobs and upskilling courses at the one-day event in Dublin on September 22, its organisers said today.

Over 100 Irish and international organisations will be offering jobs and courses while experts will also offer advice on starting a business.

Other activities include a 'Tech Box' where attendees can learn more about Ireland's fastest growing sector, IT, career workshops and a career clinic where job seekers can go for advice and help.

This is the fourth Career Zoo event with the last event attracting over 10,000 visitors last February.

It will feature exhibitors actively hiring such as Microsoft and Amazon who are sponsoring the event, Twitter, EMC Ireland, Hays Recruitment and Telefonica Ireland, as well as AOL, Accenture, Deloitte, Ericsson and Johnson and Johnson.

'IT's Happening Here', a campaign supported by Enterprise Ireland, is also sponsoring the event and will be promoting exciting career opportunities in Irish software sector firms. Some 1,500 jobs are currently available with these Irish tech employers.

Details of Career Zoo were launched today by Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Minister Richard Bruton, T.D., who said: "A central part of the Government's plan for jobs and growth is to support the accelerating transition from the old economy based on property to the new economy based on innovation. As a succession of recent announcements has shown, there are real reasons to be positive about the prospects for jobs in technology, life sciences and other dynamic sectors on which the future Irish economy must be based."

"Career Zoo is an important event which will bring together the companies in these sectors with large numbers of vacancies with the skilled professionals who can fill those roles. I commend all those involved and hope that the event later this month can be the start of a new phase for hundreds of businesses and thousands of job-seekers".

Just some of the sectors where full time jobs will be available include: IT, pharmaceutical and biomedical, engineering, sales, finance, multilingual roles, HR, marketing, management roles and more. There will also be internship opportunities.
