Irish firm's technology in Transformers

Wednesday, September 05 10:46:54

Havok, the Emmy award winning Irish technology company, which provides interactive software for the global games and entertainment industries, today said that its technology is being used in a new blockbuster Transformers game.

It said that Activision and High Moon Studios used Havok Physics and Havok Animation in the anticipated third-person shooter, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Peter Della Penna, President of High Moon Studios, says: "At High Moon Studios, we are gamers who share the passion for the medium. As developers, we believe video games are only scratching the surface of where artistic and technical creativity can take us and the power behind Havok technology allowed us to bring our imaginations to life without hindering the game's overall performance."

David Coghlan, Managing Director of Havok, says: "We are very happy that High Moon has chosen to adopt Havok's Physics and Animation technologies. Our cross-platform technology gives High Moon unlimited options for creating an amazing experience for the global gaming audience. It is a great team, a great game and we have had fun being part of the project."

The main priority of High Moon Studios was to push physics within the game without compromising performance. The use of Havok Physics and Havok Animation enabled the development team to deliver enhanced performance and convincing physical interactivity in the game.
