Wednesday, September 05 16:48:43

Auctioneer, Allsop Space has announced details of its next auction to take place next month featuring a total reserve of E15m with residential and commercial properties for the hammer, including a former convent.

It will have 127 lots - 77 residential and 50 commercial including 8 pharmacies, two hotels and six pubs.

A former convent of the Sacred Heart in Roscrea town, Co. Tipperary will be one of the feature lots with a reserve not to exceed E100,000. The sprawling property is set on 5.25 acres and the many buildings date from c.1845. Included are: St Mary's, the former community accommodation (10,000 sq ft), a former school (approx. 33,000 sq ft), and a former Retreat House (2,400 sq ft). The grounds include a car park and sporting grounds.

A Georgian property not unlike the Merrion Square lot featured in the July auction is also for sale. 34 Fitzwilliam Place and 34 Leeson Close, Dublin 2 are being sold as one lot. The property comprises a full Georgian building with a mews to the rear - 34 Leeson Close. The reserve for both properties will not exceed E850,000.

1 Edward Square, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 is a duplex apartment in the well known Georgian-style Donnybrook development. The reserve price will be set no higher than E295,000.

A row of four neighbouring houses in Walkinstown, being sold as one lot, may interest investors. Numbers 3, 5, 7 and 9 Greenhills Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12 are four semi-detached houses at the start of Greenhills Road next to the Walkinstown roundabout. The reserve will not exceed E360k for all four, areserve which could have been for just one house five years ago.

According to Robert Hoban, Director of Auctions, Allsop Space, "The size of this catalogue is a direct result of the popularity of previous auctions amongst the buying public. Properties are being sold for open market value in the most transparent manner possible. We have increased the number of lots as planned since introducing the platform, and the variety of property types has expanded to suit demand."
