Cork-based Digisoft.tv, a global provider of solutions to the IPTV, hybrid, media and entertainment markets today announced the release of its innovative Iris middleware at the IBC show in Amsterdam.
It said that the Amsterdam showcase its products and demonstrate that media and information services delivery is rapidly evolving with the adoption of multi-screen clients and a tailored customer-centric experience is becoming crucial to any existing or new media delivery solution.
Also, as the trend for fast reaction to changing consumer needs continues to accelerate, Iris provides the operator or service provider with a robust platform and easily customisable set of modules that can be re-structured rapidly and effectively to meet these growing needs, it said.
The new Iris middleware addresses this quickly evolving hybrid and IP-based market to provide a flexible, scalable, cost-effective solution to operators and service providers deploying or upgrading to these services.
Iris enables operators and service providers to deploy and extend their own advanced, personalised, hybrid DVB/IP multi-screen program guides for live TV, adaptive or push VOD, time-shifted content and personal video recording as well as companion applications and widgets via the HTML5-based software development kit. These multi-screen client devices can be managed by the extensible DigiHost head-end platform with diagnostics and remote management, and can be integrated to digital rights management and other vendors.
"Digisoft is excited to launch this ground breaking platform for Next Generation TV," said Eoin Shanaghy, Head of Product Development at Digisoft. "It represents the culmination of twelve years of experience deploying services in multiple environments. Digisoft has been able to build on our expertise and industry knowledge to provide a solution which gives our customers the ability to rapidly create or upgrade services with wide consumer appeal and grow those services into the future."
