300 retailers gather in Kilkenny event

The Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) Retail Retreat takes place in Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny this week, attracting 300 leading Irish shop owners.

The conference will open tomorrow with Sahar Hashemi, Founder Coffee Republic (nominated as one of the Top10 Original Thinkers' by Director Magazine in 2011) exploring how the customer's retail experience can be enhanced, how retailers can ignite creativity and innovation and how to understand true brand values.

Matthew Houston, Javelin Group will explore how the UK and global retail industries are changing and how channel shift is likely to change the shape of retail out to 2020. Matthew will also identify key priorities for retailers to ensure that they are prepared for the next decade in retail.

PY Gerbeau, former Vice President of Park Operations at Disneyland Paris and CEO of the Dome will explore how retailers can apply hospitality practice in-store to help successfully manage customer interactions, brand positioning to encourage footfall and how to motivate retail staff to deliver an exceptional retail experience.
