Amadeus founder for UCD seminar

Dr Hermann Hauser, a serial tech entrepreneur, investor and a co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners, a pan-European venture capital company with over £470m under management, will deliver an innovation seminar next week at UCD.

The title of the interactive seminar is Innovation, the Only Game in the West.

Organised by UCD Innovation the seminar is being delivered as part of the Brown Bag Lunch at NovaUCD series of monthly talks chaired by Gavin Bourke, Nebula Ventures.

Originally from Austria, Hermann Hauser, who is based in Cambridge, UK, has enjoyed a long and successful career both as an entrepreneur, in a wide range of technology sectors, and as a venture capitalist.

He is probably best well-known for his part in setting-up Acorn Computers with Chris Curry in 1978 which was subsequently acquired by Olivetti in 1985. He has also been involved in the spin-out of what is now ARM Holdings from Acorn Computers, following the development of the forerunner of the ARM processor, which is today found in over 90pc of mobile phones.

Other companies he has founded or co-founded include Active Book Company, Virata, Net Products, NetChannel, and Cambridge Network Limited and he was a founder director of IQ (Bio), IXI Limited, Vocalis, SynGenix, Advanced Displays Limited, Electronic Share Information Limited and ETrade UK.
