HSE agreement with hospital consultants

Reports this morning indicate that there has been agreement between the HSE and representatives of Hospital Consultants following extensive discussions over the weekend. It is understood that the agreements cover flexibility around rostering and other issues however other issues have been referred back to the Labour Court for determination. Wage levels for new entrants have been announced by the HSE and it is understood these are up to 30pc below current contract levels. Consultants are not happy with these rates however this issue is not covered by the Croke Park agreement and is therefore at the discretion of the HSE.
