Irish gold prospector, Conroy Gold and Natural Resources today said it has entered into an agreement with Gold Fields Limited to undertake test work on core samples provided from its Clontibret gold project in Co. Monaghan.
Conroy Chairman, Professor Richard Conroy described the move as "a further major step towards bringing a mine into operation in Clontibret".
The samples were selected from different locations within the proposed pit shell and are comprised of ore grade material with a 10 per cent dilution factor and of similar grade to that expected for run of mine.
Gold Fields Limited will carry out the test work in South Africa using an environmentally friendly bacterial oxidation process.
