DAA says Glanbia's US boss is new CEO

Thursday, September 27 12:37:41

The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) said it has appointed the current boss of Irish food group, Glanbia's US operations, Kevin Toland as Chief Executive with effect from January 1, 2013.

Mr Toland joins DAA from Glanbia USA and Global Nutritionals based in Evanston, Illinois USA where he holds the position of Chief Executive and President of that company. He is also a non executive director of the Board of Glanbia plc.

He replaces Declan Collier who left the airport authority to run London City Airport earlier this year.

"I understand his decision and wish him and his family every success and happiness in the future," said Glanbia managing director John Moloney.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar welcomed Mr Toland's appointment but said he takes up the new role at a challenging time for the DAA. "For some years now, the DAA has been facing a very difficult business environment with significant falls in passenger traffic at the three State airports.

"Mr Toland's initial challenge will be to deal with that situation and bring the company back to healthy growth," he said.
