Hundreds of Irish fans queued at O2 stores nationwide to be one of the first to purchase the eagerly awaited iPhone 5.
Several O2 stores throughout the country opened at 8.00am this morning to cater for the high demand.
The iPhone 5 was offered exclusively to existing O2 customers only on a first come, first served basis.
Queues at the store started hours before as fans vied to be among the first in the country to purchase the in-demand handset. The staff at the O2 store helped keep customers' spirits up as they queued, offering warm refreshments and providing umbrellas to keep the rain off.
The iPhone 5, which was unveiled globally on September 12th, booked more than two million online pre-orders within the first 24 hours.
