Futures point European markets lower

European stock index futures pointed to a weaker open today after sharp gains in the previous session, with uncertainty over the timing of a likely aid request by Spain prompting investors to stay cautious.

At 0601 GMT, futures for the Euro STOXX 50, Germany's DAX and France's CAC were 0.7 to 0.8 percent lower. ( C) Reuters
