Convenience store group, ADM Londis, today said that its investment in its new Centralised Chilled Distribution programme and technology has paid off for suppliers and retailers alike with big increases in sales turnover and savings.
The 2012 ADM Londis Retailer Conference in Killarney heard that last Summer's strategic shift has been a big success with price savings, increased margins, operational efficiencies and wider brand selection.
It was also revealed that Londis suppliers are enjoying an average turnover growth of 60pc.
The impact of the Londis Chilled Programme to suppliers has been very significant with individual suppliers such as Olhausen, Classic Cakes & Willam Carr & Sons recording sales increases of four, five and seven fold all as a result of the nationwide distribution network now provided through Londis, the Conference heard.
"The immediate impact of the Centralised Chilled Distribution programme has been felt right across the Londis family, with retailers, suppliers and of course customers all benefiting. Our Londis retailers have identified to us in the 2012 ADM Londis Retailer Survey the vital importance of customer retention and consequently the demand for increased availability of private label products and accessibility of products on promotions for their customers. The continued rollout of the Chilled Programme will meet all of these retailer needs and will continue to benefit not just Londis retailers and customers but the wider economy as the knock on effects of our successful supplier relationships will be felt across their communities," said Stephen O'Riordan, CEO, ADM Londis.
The 2012 ADM Londis Retailer Survey showed unanimous retailer support for the deployment of iPad technology by the group with retailers identifying enhanced flexibility and mobility and enabling greater operational efficiencies as the principal benefits.
The iPad deployment was the final part of a strategic online programme which is centred on the Londis ISIS ordering platform.
