Aer Lingus passengers up 1.7pc in Sept.

The total number of passengers that Aer Lingus carried on its flights this September was up 1.7pc on the same month last year. A total of 1,019,000 people flew with Aer Lingus in September.

However the number of passengers on its mainline routes, excluding regional operations, was down 0.8pc on September last year. Short haul flown passengers numbered 829,000, while a total of 97,000 long haul passengers were carried. Regional operations performed strongly in September with 93,000 passengers being carried, an increase of nearly 37pc on the same month last year.
