Japan's Nikkei share average topped the 9,000 level to log its best weekly gain in nearly a year today as expectations of easing from the Bank of Japan and robust risk sentiment on the back of an improved global outlook continued to soften the yen.
The Nikkei edged up 0.2 percent to 9,002.68, a fresh three-week high, while the broader Topix moved up 0.3 percent to 754.39. The benchmark gained 5.5 percent from last Friday's close to mark its best weekly performance since early December 2011. ( C ) Reuters
