eircom today launched a new triple play bundle which combines mobile, broadband and home phone services in one bundle from E55 as it seeks to win back lost customers.
Today's announcement marks the first step for eircom in its multi product bundling strategy - the next steps will include launching fibre and a TV offering as part of a more aggressive fight back against increasing competition in the sector.
"eircom was the first Irish operator to launch bundle products into the market offering consumers better value for their calls and broadband. It's a natural progression for us now to move to a mobile triple play bundle - again it's another first for eircom and for the market," said Carolan Lennon, Chief Commercial Officer, eircom Group.
"Our customers constantly tell us that they prefer to get all of their communications services from one single provider. Today's announcement is great news for consumers and it also positions us very firmly in the market as the leading "total telecommunications provider". Mobile, broadband and phone service from E55 really is a competitive offer - there is no better value bundle on the market and that's a fact."
The former state-owned telecommunications company, which has gone through numerous ownership changes in the past 12 years and is currently controlled by a number of its secured lenders, last week reported a 10pc (E174m) decline in revenue for the 12 months to the end of June, to E1.51bn.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 16pc (E104m) to E542m.
