Frozen burger producer Rangeland Foods said it has suspended production following the discovery of 75pc horse DNA in Polish beef product.
A company statement said "This consignment was received in early January and did not go into production.
Upon receiving these results Rangeland immediately reported the matter to the Department of Agriculture. Rangeland has now temporarily suspended production to permit a full investigation. 90pc of Rangeland's beef usage is of Irish origin."
Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney will brief an Oireachtas committee on the horse meat controversy today.
