Irish pension managed funds delivered positive returns during January, with an average return of 1.6pc for the month, according to figures from Rubicon Investment Consulting today.
Setanta Asset Management took top spot with a return of 2.5pc for the month, while Friends First/F&C propped up the league table with a return of 1.1pc.
Over the past twelve months, the average fund return was 11.9pc. Returns for the year ranged from 14.4pc (Standard Life Investments) to 10.5pc (Aviva Investors).
The average managed fund return has been a healthy 8.1pc per annum over the past three years. Most of the five year returns are positive, with an average return of 1.2pc per annum over this period. Irish group pension managed fund returns over the past ten years have been 5.4pc per annum on average, compared with the Irish inflation rate of 1.7pc per annum over the same time horizon.
All of the managed funds surveyed outperformed inflation over this period.
