Dublin-headquartered discount retailer, Primark, today opened its tenth store in Germany and its second store in Frankfurt.
The new outlet brings the total number of Primark stores to 257 across eight countries with 50,000 employees in Ireland (where it trade by its original name of Pennys), Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Austria and the UK.
Located on Zeil, in Frankfurt's city centre, the store has 42,000 square feet of retail space and will employ over 600 people, bringing the total number of Primark employees in Germany to over 4,000.
A Primark spokesperson said: "We are delighted to add another store to our expanding portfolio in Europe. Our prime location on Zeil, which is known as the most important shopping street in Germany, shows the demand and popularity of our brand amongst German shoppers. Primark is due to open three more stores in Germany this year."
