Anne O'Leary new Vodafone Ireland CEO

Vodafone Ireland today announced that Anne O'Leary, Director, Enterprise Business Unit Ireland, is appointed Vodafone Ireland CEO with immediate effect.

She joined Vodafone Ireland from BT Ireland in 2008 as Enterprise Director.

Ms O'Leary has overseen the company's acquisition of indigenous firms, Interfusion Networks and Complete Telecom and has recently established a new Enterprise Customer Solutions department at Vodafone Ireland. She has steered new ways of working for enterprises, opening up the Vodafone Ireland business to create a more collaborative and solutions based approach to customer engagement, the company said.

She is an active member of a number of business industry groups, and was recently re-elected to the board of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of University College Cork.

The new Vodafone boss also served on the Government SME management development council of Ireland and has previously chaired an All-Ireland work group on behalf of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

She has driven the creation and formation of the Women's Network at Vodafone Ireland with the goal of enhancing diversity and attracting and retaining top talent.

She began her very successful career in telecommunications with ESAT in Cork. She then became manager of BT's Global Service business and prior to joining Vodafone she assumed position of managing director of BT's SME Business in Ireland.

A Cork native, she studied marketing at CIT and strategy and leadership at London Business School.
