Mobile World Congress, the largest event worldwide in the mobile industry, kicks off this week with 18 Irish companies showcasing their wares.
This year, Enterprise Ireland is putting the spotlight on showcasing early stage high potential start-up (HPSU) companies, with eight of these innovative young businesses taking part.
The congress will give them access to senior mobile leaders from across the world, and can be the starting point for new partnership agreements and contracts.
Mobile devices play an increasing role in our business and personal lives and this is reflected in the solutions on show on the Ireland stand. Amongst the HPSU companies on the stand are HeyStaks, with its information discovery and knowledge analytics solution and Zapa Technology, which assists operators to personalise the customers experience.
More established companies include Feedhenry, assisting operators to create and manage mobile apps for business and 3V Transaction Services, which provides mobile financial services to operators.
The expertise in the Irish communications sector is illustrated by the fact that three Irish companies are shortlisted for industry awards at the show, Accuris Networks for roaming, Inhance Technology for security and Thoughtbox for education.
