Deloitte and Irish Life Corporate Business have announced the winners of the 2012/2013 Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme.
Twenty companies which operate at the highest levels of business performance were recognised at an awards gala dinner in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on Friday night, where they were joined by former Taoiseach and Chairman of IFSC Ireland, John Bruton.
Three companies were also recognised for high quality submissions in the areas of strategy, capability and commitment, which are the cornerstones of the Best Managed Companies programme. Voxpro was recognised for strategy; The Now Factory for capability; and Blackbourne Integrated M and E for commitment respectively.
Commenting on the announcement of the winners, Chairman of IFSC Ireland, John Bruton, said: "The achievements of the winning companies here tonight are even more exceptional in light of the challenges that companies continue to face all around the country. The network of excellence that these companies are joining is well positioned to drive economic growth and employment in the coming years, amid renewed investment and confidence in the Irish indigenous sector. This sector is of fundamental importance to the Irish economy, and I congratulate all involved."
An independent judging panel, chaired by Liam O'Mahony, measured company performance by looking at a broad range of criteria including strategy, capability, commitment, financials and management performance across all key functions of the business.
Glenisk was selected from among the winning companies to receive the special IMI award. This award was for achievement in leveraging and cultivating business networks and reflects the fact that, this year, the judges placed a strong emphasis on the importance of networking in developing new business opportunities. The company received a place on the IMI's Senior Executive Programme which will equip one of its senior team with the strategic skills and leadership understanding to position both themselves and their organisation for continued success.
The winning companies are located throughout the island of Ireland. Of the twenty winners, twelve companies are based in Leinster, four are based in Ulster, three in Munster and one in Connacht. The winners come from a variety of different industries including manufacturing, ICT, hospitality and catering, outsourcing, and design and print, among others.
Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte and judging panel member commented: "This year's winning companies, which now join the growing network of Best Managed Companies, represent the best of innovation, creativity, dynamism, tenacity and excellence in the indigenous sector. Deloitte is proud to celebrate their success and potential. These awards acknowledge their hard work and commitment and we are delighted to showcase their achievements."
