Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) has announced that Patrick Burke has been appointed as Managing Director.
He will take up the position in October as Gerry Keenan reaches retirement age that month and who has led ILIM since 2005.
Mr Burke joined ILIM as a Director in late 2006 and in that role has played a key part as leader of ILIM's Portfolio Management team and as a member of the team designing and delivering appropriate investment solutions to our internal, domestic and international clients as the business and client base has expanded. His industry experience, together with his previous service as an adviser and professional trustee, ensure the continuation of ILIM'S commitment to leading the market in terms of innovation and client service with a continuing focus on providing solutions which deliver best in class investment outcomes for all our clients, the company said.
Irish Life Investment Managers is a fund management arm of the Irish Life group. ILIM is the market leader in the fund management business in Ireland with 38pc market share at the end of 2012. The company is responsible for managing E40 billion in funds under management.
Speaking today the Chief Executive of Irish Life, Mr. Bill Kyle, paid tribute to Mr. Keenan; "Gerry has overseen an extraordinary period of growth and development in ILIM and he will leave the company in a tremendous position for the coming years.
