Career Zoo, the country's biggest recruitment event for qualified professionals and graduates was launched today by Jobs Minister Richard Bruton.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 14th in Dublin's Convention Centre, and will showcase job opportunities available to professionals and graduates, as well as putting a focus on the potential for new start-ups.
Admission is completely free and participants get to meet with professionals from sectors such as pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing, engineering, sales, finance, multilingual roles, HR, marketing, management roles and more.
With 10,000 delegates expected to attend, the event itself is sponsored by leading multinational companies; IrishJobs.ie, Amazon Web Services, Murex and Pramerica. The Irish Research Council, who is also a sponsor, will be holding their annual symposium at the event, with hundreds of PhD and Postdoc candidates participating.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton was in attendance at the launch today and believes that this exhibition highlights the new direction of the Irish economy,"at the heart of the Government's plan for jobs and growth is supporting the accelerating transition from the old economy based on property to the new economy based on innovation".
The Minister believes "there are real reasons to be positive about the prospects for jobs in technology, life sciences and other dynamic sectors, with 3,000 additional jobs now being created every month in the private sector".
For those who aren't qualified for the jobs on offer, the event will offer information on pathways into the sectors that are currently recruiting. There will also be a wealth of information available through workshops, seminars and the career clinic.
The exhibition takes place for one day only on Saturday 14th September from 10am-5pm. Tickets are free but anybody wishing to attend are being advised to book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
