LloydsPharmacy is to invest E13m in the business, which is already Ireland's largest network of dispensing pharmacies.
As well as the 74 LloydsPharmacy stores now open in local communities all over Ireland, LloydsPharmacy intends to grow its network by 30pc to 40pc through acquisitions and franchising over the coming years.
The chain is owned by German-based multinational, Celesio and last year sold its Cahill May Roberts drug wholesaling business in Ireland to Uniphar.
As part of the launch, it published new research showing that 86pc of people in Ireland have a positive outlook on life.
The research findings show that over a third of us (34pc) live by the mantra 'always look on the bright side of life'. And over three quarters (79pc) say that having a positive attitude helps them enjoy life more. Half of respondents believe that a positive outlook can improve your health and wellbeing. 19pc say that thinking positively has benefited their personal relationships with 43pc saying their partner is the key to that positivity. 1 in 5 (21pc) say that their best friend is the person who improves their mood while 18pc say their Mum lifts their spirits.
