There were 3,400 fewer people signing on the Live Register last month compared to October, bringing the unemployment rate down to 12.5pc from 12.6pc, latest CSO figures show.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate from the most recent Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) was 12.8pc in the third quarter of 2013.
In unadjusted terms there were 391,507 people signing on the Live Register in November 2013. This represents an annual decrease of 25,770 (-6.2pc).
On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register showed a monthly decrease of 2,600 males in November 2013, while females decreased by 900 over the same period.
The number of male claimants decreased by 22,832 (-8.6pc) to 243,538 over the year while female claimants decreased by 2,938 (-1.9pc) to 147,969. This compares with a decrease of 10,156 (-3.7pc) to 266,370 for males and a decrease of 2,134 (-1.4pc) to 150,907 for females in the year to November 2012.
