McDonald's open E3m Kilkenny restaurant

Friday, March 21 12:24:02

McDonald's Restaurants of Ireland today officially opened its new E3m drive-thru restaurant on Hebron Road on the outskirts of Kilkenny city.

The investment will see 60 new jobs created.

Irish and Leinster rugby star Sean O'Brien was on hand to officially open the new restaurant. The new drive-thru restaurant will replace the existing McDonald's restaurant on Patrick Street, Kilkenny, which closed earlier this year. The Patrick Street restaurant employed 40 staff, who transferred to the new restaurant on Hebron Road. 60 new positions were also created at the new restaurant, bringing the total number employed to 100. McDonald's Kilkenny owner operator Chris Pim, commented: "We are delighted to officially open the new 'spirit of the family' restaurant and we have had a great response from local customers so far. The design of the restaurant is focused on family and creating a new experience for McDonald's customers, some new exciting features including Samsung Galaxy tablets placed throughout the restaurant for children to play on and interact with."
