Thursday, June 26 14:41:46

Aldi Stores (Ireland) today opened its first Co. Monaghan store, located on Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, creating 20 new jobs.

Bringing the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 108, the opening of the new store means Aldi now has a presence in every county in the South. Commenting, Donald Mackay, Regional Managing Director Aldi said, "We are delighted to reach the milestone of operating a store in each of the 26 counties. Aldi has consistently been the fastest growing supermarket in the country for the past six years. Each week, more and more Irish families are visiting our stores, swapping their weekly shop to our award winning range of own-brand groceries and making huge savings on their weekly shopping bill."

Speaking at the store opening, Bernard Clarke, Manager of Aldi's new Carrickmacross store said, "Buying fresh, quality Irish foods in Monaghan just got easier thanks to the opening of our new Aldi store. Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a fantastic success and we are looking forward to serving the local community."
