Security firm, PhoneWatch today announced the opening of a new office in Kilkenny, its first base outside of Dublin and the start of a nationwide expansion.
This expansion will begin with a new office in Kilkenny with 15 new jobs created.
PhoneWatch, previously owned by Eircom, was last year bought by Norwegian firm Sector Alarm Corporation, the second-largest home security company in Europe.
The home security company announced in April its plans to build an office network throughout the country, including Cork and up to 10 other regional centres, and to create 230 jobs in the process.
Overall, newly created positions at PhoneWatch will span engineering, sales and operations, though the roles in Kilkenny will be heavily focused on sales, the Irish Examiner reports.
Kilkenny has been selected to serve as a hub for the south-east region, serving households not only in the county but surrounding areas also.
