3D4Medical to create 50 Dublin jobs

Thursday, July 31 12:42:30

3D4Medical, an Irish med-tech and fitness company whose apps have been downloaded 15m times on desktop and mobile, is to create 50 new jobs in Dublin.

The new jobs will come on stream over the next two years and will create high-value jobs in R and D, sales and marketing.

3D4Medical has developed more than 19 apps that have reached No 1 in the download charts across iOS, Mac, Windows and Android Stores.

Its 'Essential Anatomy' desktop and mobile application has been the No 1 iPad and desktop (medical category) app in the US for the last 18 months and is currently No 1 in 95 countries worldwide.

"Mobile and desktop medical applications are causing a revolution in science and medical education," said CEO John Moore, who co-founded the company in 2004 with Niall Johnson.

"3D4Medical are world leaders in building content and technology that makes medicine and science accessible."

"We continue our impressive growth and innovation record at much faster pace in the next two years," Mr Moore added.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the firm had rejected a $30m (E22m) takeover offer by a US group and is instead raising up to E5m in funding for expansion.
