Aer Lingus this morning said that it carried 6.2pc more passengers on all of its services in July than in the same month a year ago.
It carried 1.212 million travellers in the month.
Aer Lingus long haul passengers increased by 22.4pc from 116,000 to 142,000, while short haul passenger numbers were up 2.1pc to 928,000.
The overall passenger load factor, an industry-wide measure of how well airlines fill their aircraft, was 87.3pc compared to 87.9pc in July 2013.
Total passenger numbers for 2014 year to date now stand at 6.446 million, up 3.9pc on the previous year, the airline said.
