Ciara Murphy steps down as DG of SCSI

Thursday, August 21 11:06:13

The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) said Ciara Murphy will be stepping down as Director General in the coming months to take up a new position.

The society said it is now looking for a new DG.

Speaking today, the President of the Society, Pauline Daly, paid tribute to Ms Murphy; "Over the past 7 years, Ciara has made an enormously positive contribution to the development of our Society. Her work has ensured that the organisation is on a very sound footing and is recognized for its commitment to promoting high standards, professionalism and expertise across the profession. Ciara also played a key role in overseeing the historic merger which formed the new Society in April 2011 (established following the merger of the SCS and the IAVI) and more recently the transition of the IPFMA into the Society. We wish her every success in the future and, on behalf of all of our members, we thank her for her contribution to the Society."

Ms. Daly said that the Society would begin a recruitment process for a new Director General in the coming weeks; "The Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland is one of the key stakeholders in the construction, property and development sectors of the economy and we play a very important role in the debate on the development of this sector. The Director General will have a key role to play in helping to support and lead the work of the Society over the coming years and I have no doubt that the position will attract significant interest from people of the highest calibre."
