Cork-based Westbourne IT Global Services today announced the international expansion of its operations with the opening of a new office in Auckland, New Zealand.
The announcement was made during the Enterprise Ireland trade and investment mission to Australia, led by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton. This project is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.
The New Zealand office will create 20 new jobs over the coming 12 months and the company is currently recruiting for English speaking Japanese, Korean and Chinese technical staff to fill positions in its new Auckland office.
The strategic move will see Westbourne IT Global Services firmly establishing an international footprint for the business, allowing the company to provide a 24/7 'Follow the Sun' solution for its customers. The New Zealand office will both enhance and increase the company's existing jobs in Cork as Westbourne IT's Cork headquarters will provide back office support for the expanding group, it said.
John O'Sullivan, Founder and CEO of Westbourne IT Global Services said: "As part of our international expansion plans, we will actively seek new business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, which our Cork base will support through the further addition of new roles. The opening of our first international office in Auckland is a hugely significant step for us and I'm delighted to confirm that by the end of 2016 we expect to employ 150 people in Cork and 50 people in Auckland."
