It was announced today that Chopped have opened a new outlet in Blanchardstown with franchisee, Cathal Pendred.
Cathal Pendred was announced as Chopped’s first official franchisee in November 2015 and the new store opening follows months of planning and investment of over €250K. The outlet is an equal partnership between Chopped and Cathal Pendred.
The store, which has seating for over 52 people, will open at Westend Shopping Park, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Coolmine, Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin.
The new store will create 30 jobs and follows newly opened Chopped outlets in Grafton Street, Maxol Mulhuddart Rathmines, Sandyford and Tallaght.
Chopped’s ongoing expansion plan will bring the number of Chopped employees to 320 by the end of 2016.
The healthy food company was named Ireland’s “Best Emerging Franchise” at the Irish Franchise Awards in April and Brian Lee was named as a finalist in the Emerging Category of the 2016 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme.
The single store franchise fee for Chopped is €20,000, with an average turnkey capital cost to open an outlet to be about €180,000. The company charges a royalty fee to franchisees that is equivalent to 6% of net sales and a 2% contribution.
Co-founder and Managing Director of Chopped, Brian Lee said, "We’ve been working hard over the past year to find the perfect spot for a new Chopped and we have definitely found it in Blanchardstown. This is our biggest outlet to date and we’re proud to have Cathal on board."
