‘UPRISE’ will be coming to Dublin’s RDS, Ballsbridge, on Thursday, 20th October, 2016 from 9am – 6.30pm.

The event is sponsored by Dublin City Council’s, Economic Development & Enterprise Office and will involve 150 start-ups, 15 workshops, buskers, games, music, DJ’s, entertainment, jobs and much more.

There will be no big guest speakers just 150 innovative young companies, practical workshops and interactive panels including Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Salesforce, Freeland.com and SEEDrs.

An epic start-up Pitch Battle will see 6 international start-ups pit their strengths against 6 Irish based start-ups, after local heats were held in Europe and the USA in earlier this year. The audience will decide which company wins (no judging panel required!).

Dublin City Local Enterprise Office (LEO) will award a prize fund of €5,000 to the winning entrepreneur.

Head of Enterprise and Economic Development, Dublin City Council, Greg Swift said, "We are delighted to be supporting the UPRISE Festival 2016 here in Dublin. The move will no doubt showcase the success of Dublin as being a hotbed of activity and support for emerging Start-Ups."

He added, "The doors of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Dublin City are always open to those thinking of starting their own business or to those already in business but in need of extra support."
