A massive Glanbia dairy facility which opened today in Kilkenny highlights the major export potential of the sector according to Ibec.

Ibec Chief Executive Danny McCoy said: "The investment highlights the major export and employment opportunities that the lifting of EU dairy quotas presents. The sheer scale of the facility is a major vote of confidence in the sector and in Ireland's export potential. To support further investment and job creation, it is crucial that the country's agri-food strategy is fully aligned with national enterprise and employment policy. Much more can be done to improve our attractiveness as an investment location, including upgrading our national transport infrastructure and reforming our education system."
