O’Brien Fine Foods to acquire Faughan Foods

It was announced yesterday that O’Brien Fine Foods, one of Ireland’s leading producers of cooked meats and breakfast products including the Brady Family and Rudds brands, is to acquire Faughan Foods, the cooked meats division of Hogan’s Farm. 

The deal will allow O’Brien Fine Foods to develop its offering in the white meat market in Ireland, delivering on the firm’s ambition to grow the company.
    
Operating from two dedicated facilities in Timahoe, Co Kildare and Birr, Co Offaly, O’Brien Fine Foods currently supplies branded and own label meat products to all major multiples, discounters and convenience groups in Ireland. The company employs over 395 people in Ireland.

Operating from Rathcairn, in Co. Meath, Faughan Foods has been in business for 25 years and employs over 80 people. The cooked meats division of Hogan’s Farm, produce a range of own label cooked meats for the Irish and UK retailers, as well as under the Hogan’s Farm brand.

Hogan’s Farm will continue to supply fresh turkey to FaughanFoods as part of the deal while the day-to-day operations at Faughan Foods will continue to be led by Lisa Rowntree and Diarmuid Connell, supported by the O’Brien Fine Foods team.

Commenting yesterday, Managing Director of O’Brien Fine Foods, John O’Brien said, "As a leading producer of cooked meats in Ireland, it is our aim to continue to grow and develop our offering. Today’s announcement of this acquisition is an important step in the process, allowing us to build a strong presence in the white meat market in 2017."
