It was announced yesterday that Irish UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, will fight former multi-division boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather.
The news was confirmed on social media by both athletes on Wednesday.
UFC boss Dana White yesterday spoke to US network Sport Centre where he confirmed the fight will be a pay-per-view event through the premium cable channel, Showtime. It will take place on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor could make up to US$100m for the fight, according to White.
