Bank of Ireland welcomes new Head of Mortgage Intermediaries

It was announced this week that Bank of Ireland has appointed Donal Atkins as Head of Mortgage Intermediaries. Donal is responsible for delivering the bank’s mortgage intermediary strategy, developing and managing intermediary relationships and driving the generation of new broker originated business.

Donal has over 25 years’ experience in a number of financial services roles including residential and commercial mortgages, pensions and insurances and the personal debt industry. He has been Head of Bank at Work for Bank of Ireland since 2016, in which time the team significantly increased its workplace banking presence, particularly with FDI organisations.

Before joining Bank of Ireland, Donal successfully ran his own Mortgage & Financial Services brokerage for 14 years and also held positions with Ulster Bank, Mellon Financial Services and Irish Nationwide Building Society.

Donal holds a Diploma in Leadership from UCC, a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice QFA and a Certificate in Business Development & Planning from the IMI.
