Fiach Mac Conghail has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer at the Digital Hub Development Agency (DHDA).
The DHDA is the State agency charged with managing and developing The Digital Hub cluster, with the aim of creating an international centre of excellence for digital content and technology enterprises. The Digital Hub is located in Dublin’s south-west inner city, in the historic Liberties area.
It is currently home to almost 100 established digital businesses, employing just over 700 people.
Fiach is currently Director and CEO of the Abbey Theatre and was a Senator from 2011 to 2016. He will take up his position in October.
Gerry Macken, who has been on secondment from Dublin City Council, will continue as Interim CEO until Fiach takes up the position and will then return to a senior role in the Council.
Commenting on his appointment, Fiach Mac Conghail said, "I'm delighted to be appointed CEO of The Digital Hub Development Agency (DHDA) and to continue to build on the success of this imaginative project. Supporting creativity and encouraging the imagination of others has been a constant passion and value in my professional career to date and this new role will enable me to continue with this passion."
