It was announced last week that Three Ireland has appointed Elaine Carey, Three’s Chief Commercial Officer, to its Board. Three is Ireland’s second largest mobile operator with over two million customers.
 
Elaine joined Three in 2008 as Head of Sales with responsibility for the sales, digital and marketing strategy and consumer propositions.  

Over the past nine years her role has evolved and today Elaine, as Chief Commercial Officer, spearheads all of the business’s consumer commercial activities including devising and managing propositions and products portfolio, managing the retail footprint of 67 stores nationwide and the brand and extensive sponsorship portfolio.
 
A graduate of business and computing from Limerick IT, Elaine started her career with Esat Digifone and then moved to Digicel in the Caribbean where she spent five years working at a senior level including as Sales & Marketing Director for the Eastern Caribbean.  

She was also part of the management team that set up the Digicel business in markets like St Lucia, Barbados, Jamaica and others. In 2006 Elaine returned to Ireland and took up the role of Head of ICT with Eircom where she spent two years setting up its ICT division before joining Three in 2008.
 
Announcing the appointment, CEO at Three Ireland, Robert Finnegan said, "The appointment of Elaine to our Board is recognition of her significant contribution to the company over the past nine years. I’m confident that Elaine’s individual and unique skills and experience will serve the Board well as we continue to expand our business and grow our market share in Ireland."
