It has been announced today that eSentire Inc, a Canadian company plans to create close to 100 jobs over the next five years in a European HQ and Security Operations Centre in Cork.
The company offers continuous advanced threat protection cybersecurity solutions and managed security services. It has has grown rapidly, more than tripling its size in the last three years. The company’s greatest challenge is finding talented security forensics analysts, software development and sales professionals to join its expanding team.
Minister Bruton said, "Cybersecurity is a specific area which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in recent years we have seen an impressive performance in this sector. Today’s announcement that eSentire, a leading company in this area, is establishing a European HQ in Cork and creating 100 extra jobs is another important boost. I wish Mark and the team every success with this project."
CTO at eSentire Inc, Mark McArdle added, "We evaluated several locations within Europe to expand our business and establish an EU base to better serve our clients on both sides of the ocean. We were extremely impressed with the technical talent in Cork and the ecosystem the government has helped to develop to fill the skills gap, specifically in the demanding and competitive field of cybersecurity.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
