First Minister of Northern Ireland, Martin McGuinness has said Northern Ireland may still remain within the European Union despite Britain voting to leave, according to a report in the Irish Independent.

Mr McGuinness was speaking ahead of the All-Ireland Brexit forum, which is due to take place at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham today. The Sinn Féin politician said he "did not accept" that the Irish Government would have no problem in relocating jobs from the North down to the South.

"The British government need to understand there is a strong feeling across Ireland that our future remains in Europe," he told Newstalk Breakfast.
