DesignPro has today announced it will create 85 new posts over the next five years as part of a major expansion programme at the Co. Limerick company.

The announcement was made today by Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, as he also launched a 120,000ft Rathkeale Enterprise Centre, which is owned and operated by Innovate Limerick, a business development unit of Limerick City and County Council.

The centre opening and DesignPro’s expansion amount to the biggest investment in the West Limerick town in almost four decades.

The first of the new posts at DesignPro will come on stream early next year, with recruiting already underway. Employment numbers will double from its existing 25 in just over two years and to 110 by 2020.

The Enterprise Centre itself anticipates having over 100 jobs in place by the end of 2016, up from 30 this year, and increasing to 200 by 2018.

Opening the centre, Finance Minister Michael Noonan said, "This facility excellently represents the recovery in the Irish economy.

"Just over two years ago West Limerick was reeling from the news that Andersen was to close but today we have the opening of the town’s new Enterprise Centre, an extremely positive day in its own right as Rathkeale gets a facility that will be a stimulus for employment and innovation."
