The latest figures from Vision-Net.ie show that over 1,700 company start-ups have been formed in Ireland so far this month - the highest July figure they have recorded in the last 15 years.

It is estimated that 1,732 new companies were formed in Ireland this month - an average of almost 58 per day. This is the best July for company start-ups since the year 2000 and the third best July in the past 25 years - 1,753 and 2,234 start-ups were formed in July 1997 and 1998 respectively.

Furthermore, company start-ups this month are up 17% on the same period last year with the professional services sector proving to be the most attractive for new companies. Approximately 23% of new companies this month are operating in that sector.

Other popular industries for start-ups this month include social & personal services and wholesale & retail which account for 11% and 10% of start-ups this month respectively.
